Mr. Smith has served as editor-in-chief, columnist, and contributing writer for a number of periodicals:

•  Special Assignment Editor and photographer for Louisiana Film and Video Magazine.

•  Editor-in-chief of Shutter, a periodical for the Louisiana commercial and independent film, television, and theatrical industry.

•  Founding editor-in-chief of The Veranda, one of New Orleans’ only non-academic literary journals. Responsibilities included organizing an editorial board of peer reviewers; conducting the peer review process; making accept/reject decisions; conducting layout and design and of the journal; and overseeing all publication aspects, marketing and promotion, sales, and distribution.

•  Managing Editor of Hypertension, a peer-reviewed scientific specialty research journal for the American Heart Association.

•  Editor of The Beautiful Plan, a periodical for the online book marketing campaign industry by Patron Saint Productions.

•  Editor of AuthorViews, a periodical for the online book marketing campaign industry by Patron Saint Productions.

•  Columnist and contributing writer for the Editorial Experts, Inc. publication The Editorial Eye.

•  Columnist and contributing writer for the Society for Technical Communication publication for the Louisiana chapter.

•  Founding Editor of CDSI New Orleans News, a periodical for a federal government contractor.
